How My Journey Began

I believe we all have a unique purpose and incredibly special calling on our life. But what happens when we are faced with challenges that cause us to feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or betrayed to the extent they impede our ability to show up as our best self.

There are so many ways the trauma of divorce can leave a woman feeling stuck and broken … mentally, emotionally, financially, in some cases even spiritually. And when she is esteemed by her family, friends, colleagues at work and in her community as a leader and pillar of strength, these perfectly normal human reactions can present a particularly unique set of challenges.

For some, one of the biggest challenges comes in the form of the day-to-day, moment-to-moment struggle to take a deep breath. The goal, to remain cool, calm, and collected, so she can keep it all together and continue to live up to the reputation and image she has worked so hard to cultivate.

You would be surprised how complex something as simple as breathing often becomes for a woman like this … but I’m not, because I was one of them.

As a divorced mother, a retired Air Force officer, and an executive leader I know first-hand what the divorce experience can feel like both personally and professionally.

I am CDC Certified Divorce Coach ®, and the owner of Beauty in the Midst, LLC, a woman and Veteran-owned small business coaching, consulting company. In addition to a Masters of Science Degree in Human Services, I also have a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Health and Wellness Certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching. Additionally, I have 30 years of executive, analytical and leadership expertise in strategic human resources management, with demonstrated success in the areas of command and control, communications, information management, personnel, training, protocol and military equal opportunity.

Talented, educated, successful, dare I say ‘fabulous total package” woman I am, the day my husband asked me for a divorce turned my world upside down in an instant, completely shattered my confidence and threatened to destroy my self-esteem.  I believe the fact that we had a young teenaged daughter, for whom I always want to be a role model, gave me some of the courage and strength I needed to manage the flood of fleeting emotions which impacted my day-to-day decision-making during this process.  I also believe having a neutral party I could count on to help me think through some of my decisions would have given me clarity a lot sooner, saving me valuable time, money and emotional energy which would have helped me to heal and move on more quickly.

As a result of my own divorce experience, I became a divorce coach to help other women who might be thinking about divorce, in the midst of divorce or struggling to move on in the aftermath.  I understand all to well how lonely and overwhelming the divorce process can be no matter how intelligent, accomplished, strong and beautiful a woman is.  I want to be the wings for women navigating this flight no matter where they are in their journey.  My goal is to arm them with the information they need to help them get organized, plan, and gracefully make more strategic decisions. Throughout this process, I also want to inspire them to honor their truth, best self and beauty that remains inside of them.

Culture:  Beauty in the Midst DBA Divorce Coach Confidante is rooted in healing presence, holistic philosophies which are action and outcome focused. I am committed to providing genuine, dynamic and compassionate coaching which inspires my clients to embrace who they are as I help them gracefully move forward.
